Yemenia Airways is a flight-booking flow that takes a traveler from "where to?" to a confirmed booking — designed around the things that make booking a Yemen flight different: limited routes, group travel, and the visa and residence documents passengers must provide before they fly.
The challenge
Booking a flight is one of the most abandonment-prone flows on the web: many steps, real money, and little tolerance for confusion. Yemenia adds constraints most booking engines never handle. Routes are restricted — some services run exclusively to a single destination — so a traveler can hit a dead end late if the limit isn't surfaced early. And before flying, passengers must supply passport, visa, and residence documentation, often for several people at once.
The flow had to carry all of that without feeling like paperwork: clear at every step, honest about price, and bilingual (Arabic and English) from the first screen.
The approach
I designed it as a guided, stepped journey — search → flights → passenger & visa → review → payment — with a progress indicator so travelers always know where they are and what's left. A trip summary sits beside every step, route and running total in view, so the price is never a surprise at the end.
Route limits surface up front: the search screen states plainly when a service runs to one destination only, before anyone invests in filling the form. The passenger step structures the hard part — personal, passport, and visa or residence details, repeated cleanly per passenger, with document upload built into the flow rather than bolted on after.
The booking flow
Four steps, each doing one job well:
- Search — pick trip type, route, date, and class, with route constraints stated before you commit.
- Select flight — compare departures by schedule, duration, and price; the trip summary tallies fares and baggage live.
- Passenger & visa — capture each traveler's personal, passport, and residence details, with in-flow document upload.
- Review — flight details, every passenger verified, and a full price breakdown before continuing to payment.
