Egyptian e-Visa is an online visa application that does the heavy lifting for travelers — "you take care of your trip, we take care of your visa." A guided, resumable flow turns a stressful government form into something you can finish in five minutes, with the fee in view the whole way.
The challenge
Visa applications are where trips stall: long official forms, unclear fees, strict document rules, and the constant fear of getting one field wrong and losing the lot. People don't finish them in one sitting — they stop to dig out a passport number and come back later. A flow that loses their progress, or hides the real cost until the end, loses the applicant.
The job was to make a government process feel approachable: break it into clear steps, set expectations on time and cost up front, and never make someone start over.
The approach
I designed it as a short, stepped journey with a constant promise — "this will take you 5 minutes." A progress bar marks how far along you are; a price panel sits beside every step, government fee and processing option always visible, so the total is honest from the start.
The flow is resumable: come back and it offers to pick up where you left off instead of restarting. Each step does one thing — trip dates and contact, applicant details, purpose of travel, processing speed, payment — then a final review confirms everything before submission. Errors are caught in context, not sprung at the end.
The application flow
- General information — trip dates, phone, and email to anchor the request.
- Applicant(s) — passport and personal details, for one traveler or several.
- Purpose of travel — the reason and supporting specifics that set the visa type.
- Processing time — choose standard or faster, with the fee impact shown.
- Payment & review — confirm the breakdown, pay, and submit.
